My child has lost interest in studies and says everyone cannot be good at everything. She is brilliant at music and wants to make that her career and wants to give up school. She says that there are a lot of good musicians who do not have basic education. Help!

Firstly, you should not stop your child from pursuing music. Help her excel in that. Get her professional coaching. While she is doing what she enjoys and likes, also talk to her about the importance of basic education. As a parent, you must let her know that basic education will help her in all walks of life including music. Ask her to name a few people who she knows who gave up studies altogether. Ask her how they are doing (chances are they will not be doing well in life). Tell her that education never goes waste, in fact, it opens up opportunities. And a basic education would open up many avenues in life, even in her chosen field of music.
