Should I give them additional allowance for doing chores like helping around the house or fetching something?

Do not use the money to pay children for helping you around the house. They will use this to manipulate you. Children need to learn that keeping the house tidy and helping parents around is everyone’s responsibility. Paying them for this will encourage too much negative behavior and should be avoided at all costs.
