My 3-year-old child throws tantrums at everything-is it normal?

No. All children throw tantrums-some more than the others. But throwing tantrums about almost everything is not normal. You need to observe the child find out the reason. Either he seeks attention. Or he is being reprimanded more than necessary and throws a tantrum as a reflex action to avoid it. (It’s like saying- “I’m going to be scolded for being naughty anyway, so I may as well be naughty. Why bother being good”) Most children get a sense of their own individuality and desires by the age of 1 to 3 years. When they feel uncomfortable with something they get angry and take it out on everything around-they pound the floor-throw things and become difficult to handle. Mostly the tantrum will be a result of hunger or fatigue in young kids and can be handled by feeding them or allowing them to rest or taking them to familiar surroundings.
